What is our role in history? Things like the Holocaust happened, slavery happened, and we frown upon these historical events instantly without hesitation.
What will the domestication of animals mean in the future of our society? Looking back the people of the future might think, oh well they could have done better. Or something like this is totally wrong, how could people behave like this?
It kinda changes one’s historical perspective to find a quiet space and consider what if “now” will be “history”? And how will this “history” be understood in the future?
What will our actions today mean for the future? It’s not just about getting ahead, but about whether they align with our ideals and the things we hold dear to our hearts.
So for each person this might lead to a different answer.
For me, I think when it comes to animal rights, never giving up. I used to tell myself to never give up as a kid, now why hesitate when it’s for something that matters truly.
There are doubts, fear that things won’t get better, but that’s practically universal for any dream that matters to a person.
Also our actions today add up over time. Which trajectory does oneself want one’s actions to move in? as collectively and over the course of time, this is how many movements influenced reality and the laws and society we live under today. Bad things didn’t just disappear immediately.
and so we wish, we hope, and we persist. because, well I’m going to leave that part to you ☺️
