Reaction to “friendship”

I don’t understand how someone could be friends with and raise the same beings whom they then kill for meat and say they do it because they love them. This feels completely wrong.

Killing a friend sounds like the last thing a person should ever do. This feels so disturbing.

Personally – I love animals, they are like close friends, family, children, and there is no way that I can live my life mentally and emotionally away from this cause. It matters way too much for me, not because I’m doing something admirable, but because it is a pressing issue, I have harmed animals before too, I used to consume meat and animal products. But I’m not proud of that and I’ve turned over a new leaf. If only I can be forgiven for what I did.
