Is it morally wrong to consume animals?

This is an interesting question. In my opinion – Yes it is morally wrong to consume animals. It is morally wrong because we can live perfectly fine with a plant based diet and a B12 supplement (B12 is a vitamin that can only be found in plants). Also, we wouldn’t do the same to a human being under any circumstances, cannibalizing is considered highly immoral.

The upkeep of the animal agriculture industry is also a problem. We breed them so that we can use them with no concern for what that means for them. We do so much to protect our own children, but we don’t allow nonhuman animals to protect their children. We do the exact opposite of what we do with our own children. We protect our own children. And we intentionally create sentient beings and induce harm for nonhuman animals. This sounds like a moral tragedy to me.
